ABOUT ABOUT

You can still attend this workshop by going to the event site and buying your ticket at the door, but online ticket sales have now ended.

CSIX Connect invites you to attend our upcoming Interview Workshop, featuring recruiters and hiring managers from a number of local companies.

In this 3-hour workshop event, top Bay Area recruiters (with open jobs to fill) and hiring managers will conduct a hands-on, practical workshop for a limited number of attendees on how to behave and answer questions in employment interviews.

This workshop is all about interviews and how to create the best, most effective image of yourself during this critical phase of the hiring process. It presumes you have already drafted at least one current resume (bring 10 copies with you), have prepared answers to the kinds of questions typically asked in employment interviews, and are ready to refine them into a more effective self-presentation.

The intent of the workshop is to provide honest, practical and direct feedback. What you are doing right, what you are doing wrong, and what do you need to do to perform better?

The first session is a short teaching overview where panelists will offer their general perspectives about interviewing. The second session is when attendees will then break out into smaller groups, each led by an interviewer. About 6-10 attendees in each group will be allowed to practice their interview skills through 1-on-1 practice, which their interviewer will conduct. The interviewee will receive personal critiques by their recruiter, who will provide candid feedback and coaching. All in the group will be able to watch, learn and ask questions about the practice interviews. The event will close with an all-attendees Q & A session to clarify how candidates are being viewed in the market today.

Each attendee who participates as a “Interviewee” will be asked three questions. The first two will be often-asked questions, which will be e-mailed to all pre-registered participants before the event so everyone can prepare answers. The third will be unknown to the “Interviewee”, and may include questions that make no sense, or that require the candidate to think quickly on their feet, so participants can also work on how to handle these situations.

Remember, this is about honest feedback and hands-on review. Advice given to one will be shared with all. If you are shy, attend and listen to what is being said; active participation is encouraged but not required. There is only time for a limited number of “Interviewees” to answer questions, but room for many “Observers” to listen and learn. Choose the appropriate ticket to indicate your interest in participating.

Whether you’ve had one interview or dozens, you always wonder ‘what did the recruiters and hiring managers think of me?’ Why did or didn’t I make the cut? How can I improve my odds?
